Vacancy - Technical Project Buyer

Are you an experienced Technical Project Buyer with a background of sourcing technical hardware equipment to support complex projects on time and to budget? Would you like to add value to a business by sourcing specialist technical items for a broad spectrum of different projects?

Hours: 37.5 hours, 5 days
 
Salary: £32 to 38,000 (DOE)
 
LocationRemote working available with occasional expected travel to Milton Keynes and Hull
 

The role

To manage the sourcing requirements of all products and services for RFiD Discovery customers, ensuring the supply chain meets cost, quality, delivery and targets. 
 

Responsibilities

  • Devise project supplier strategies in support of customer bids
  • Negotiate terms with supplier including price and delivery
  • Expedite orders ensuring deliveries meet contracted requirements  
  • Report progress in accordance with programme management processes 
  • Develop category strategies working with the technical team to increase the levels of standardisation in critical products.
  • Produce the sales and operations plan for RFID outsourced products and services
  • Negotiate cost savings to increase margin on bought out product
  • Customer projects delivered on time to cost and quality requirements 
  • Standardisation of key outsourced products
  • Forecast cash
 

The candidate

  • CIPS qualification and or project management qualification would be highly desirable 
  • Excellent organisational skills, especially time management
  • Good team working skills
  • Strong negotiating skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to gather, analyse & summarise data to develop appropriate actions
