Components of a Wirepas network
A complete Wirepas-based solution consists of several key elements working together:
Tags or Sensors
Battery-powered tags or sensors are attached to assets, tools, equipment, or containers. These collect data such as location, temperature, humidity, or movement and transmit it into the network.
Anchors/Beacons
Fixed reference devices are installed throughout the site to provide the infrastructure required for position calculation and network routing. Using Wirepas technology, installation is fast, simple, and highly cost-effective, with no cables required - eliminating the expense and downtime typically associated with wired setups. This quick, wireless deployment minimises disruption on site, allowing operations to continue uninterrupted.
Gateway readers
Gateways connect the Wirepas mesh network to external systems. They forward data securely to cloud platforms, location engines, or enterprise software such as WMS, MES, or ERP systems.
Importantly, gateways do not control the network. All network intelligence remains distributed across the Wirepas devices themselves.
